:
Putting your baby or child to bed at 7pm is the key to success. If you put your baby to bed any earlier or later, invariably you will cause your baby or child to wake up before she has had enough sleep.
And Secondly :-
:
Quite often when parents are woken at 5 am, they make the mistake of treating the situation differently to if the disturbance took place aat 1 am, thinking their baby ahd had too much sleep by 5 am to attempt resettling so their only option is to get both themselves and the baby up! I believe that babies, toddlers and children who wake at 5 am and are not resettled are getting insufficient sleep. You end up with a very overtired and hyperactive baby and the only way out is to ask your baby to resettle, irrespective of how long it takes.
There is a case study in the book and I'm going to give it a try tomorrow.... babes has just gone to bed and fingers crossed he is asleep now as I haven't heard a peep in 15 minutes, so he's caught the 7 oclock bus.... I'm going to try and resettle in the morning and let him lie and hopefully go back to sleep...
