Hi there,
I am planning to go to a concert thing for my church tonight and there will be loud bands performing. My 3 month old baby is coming with us also, Just wondering if the loud noises will affect my bubs hearing? Or if I sit towards the back do you think it will be ok?
I think you're best to sit near the back.
I suffer from a touch of industrial deafness from listening to too much loud music.
We hear by tony bones in our ear vibrating - if they vibrate too hard & often they get a bit of wear and tear.
you should be ok, if you don't sit any where near an amplifier. Is there anything you can cover your bubs ears with??
I'm a bit like dachlostar, my hearing is not so good, 'cause of the loud music.
the extent to which noise affects you, if your ears are ringing, when the rining stops you will pretty much never hear that particular tone ever again.
I guess if it's too loud for you that would be a good indication to leave
Maybe put a hat on over bubs ears as well, if you're worried.
Thanks or your replies. I went for about 10 minutes and decided it was too loud for my baby (even though she was fast asleep). Next time i will go with my gut instinct!
I am glad you went with your instincts. A few months ago I would have said there is no problem at all, but my son has been diagnosed as having partial deafness in one ear and they say that it is from a loud noise at some stage in his life, and it is a permanent hearing loss.
I was very surprised at what was considered a loud noise (ie lawnmower, motorbike), I suppose you won't ever know if you are that way inclined with the hearing unless something goes wrong.
You can google noise decibels and it gives you a list of what is considered noise that can do damage.
