Tehya strikes again
Tonight while trying to watch the beginning of Idol, Mark was geting ready for touch footy, and Tehya was off playing. Or so we thought.
Tehya was in my bedroom, door closed and smearing a jar of Vicks Baby Balsam all over the walls, my door, her hair, her chest, her legs (no pants on) her face and God only knows where else. Thankfully she didn't get it on her fanny.
Now I got Mark to wash her hands and face while I cleaned off the wall and door. But upon my closer inspection she was still covered in it. And spots were missed. Like her hair !!
So I have stripped her and given her another bath. Washed her down with a flannel and her bath wash, but she still feels greasy. How the hell do I get it all off her ??
One thing is for sure. Our noses are clear !!
-
Oh dear!! No idea how to get it off though Trish, sorry.
-
Trish, sounds like she has been secretly been emailing my kids for ideas!!!! They sound like they would get on like a house on fire! They would probably do that too if they could :)
-
I reckon that something anaeseptic like lavender oil or tea tree oil could do it. We use tea tree oil to get grease off things, at the vet clinic if they get into things we use diluted tea tree oil because straight tea tree oil can burn their skin.
Good luck!!

Eucalyptus oil gets rid of gooey stuff so maybe that as well?
-
It must be the season for it Trish, we had a vicks incident on a new lounge setting. As you say lots of clear nostrils around atm.
Go Tehya...glad you remembered your hair rofl

Be careful with oils.
Because its got stuff in it you don't want to mix other stuff then cause problems!
Thats so something I would have done as a kid, although I'd probably been skinned afterwards...

Well Tehy fell asleep around the time of my post, so perhaps all the extra bedtime bath rubbed all over herskin added with the lavender that's in the Vicks balsam worked for us. Perhaps I should get another jar for tonight ;)
She just went to bed with well moisturised skin. I guess I will just try giving her another rub over in a nice warm shower with me this morning rahter than using anything too hard on her skin. I am obviously more thoughtful of her skin than what she is.
Kelly, I told you your kids and mine would go well together. They so would have been in on the paint act.
Bec, so was yours full strength Vicks. I am so glad ours wasn't despite the fact it prob would have stopped sooner as it would have burnt her. My room would be stinking to high heaven by now.
Thanks for the advice girls.
-
Oh god, I had to laugh reading that, glad its you not me! My nephew did that with vaseline and it took bout a week for his hair to not look oily.
-
LMAO @ stinking to high heaven.
I'm so glad it wasn't full strength vicks - ouchies.
Little poppet, I'm hoping she woke up nice and refreshed LOL!
Oh and there is no way I meant she should be skinned, quite the opposite JIC I came across backwards LOL!
*hugs*

Very cute Trish! I think you have a budding beautician there LOL!!
-
Oh dear!!
Violet go into ours a few months ago and only put it on her fanny!! She was screaming!!
Tanya

OMG Tanya, that is what I was worried about. She got into a shimmer body lotion a few months back and rubbed that all over herself. Gave herself a "showgirl" fanny.
Cailin, don't stress hun. She'd have to do something a little worse for me to skin her ;)
After showering her again and washing her hair again this morning it still isn't looking great. Quite oily and yuck, It just does nothing for her curls. :D
Seems she is into a mischievious stage. This morning she found a full box of nappy liners I have for bub and emptied them all over my bed. And just now she got into the damn citronella burner out the back.
She has way too much energy for my likings atm.
-
oohhh Trish you poor thing - but I must admit I did have a little chuckle and though how well Campbell and Teh would get on as well!!!!
hhhmmm I wonder what she is cooking up next! lol
-
Trish, had the same thing here just in the hair though. The main secret with Vicks is combing it out and then blotting it with paper towel before washing it, wish I knew that before Maggie put a tub through her hair.
What I used in the end after washing her hair 10+ times and it not budging was bicarb rubbed through the hair to help absorb the oil. Then washed with adult shampoo (a clarifying one), washed again with some bicarb mixed in the shampoo. That seemed to help it a lot, then it was a few more days and normal washing to get it nice again. Actually it was quite soft after the experience.
-
OH thanks for that Astrid. If it's still not looking good tomorrow morning I will cover her head in bicarb.
Relle, thanks hun. Atleast with boy's their hair is generally short when things like this happen.
-
No prob, just remember to give the bicarb a chance to absorb the oil. The original tip I read used Cornstarch, but I couldn't find any, luckily bi-carb seemed to do the trick.

Wow, i swear these kids must be in the same club as my 2yo nephew Deekon, except he covered himself with Sudocream. Yes, the thick gooey white bum cream. Took my SIL weeks to get his beautiful blonde hair back to normal!
