Hi Krusty
That is a little high but not scary high. It would also depend on what you were doing at the time your heart rate was taken
Hi Alan
Thank you for your reply, I was not doing anything at the time it was my at rest rate.
Thank you again
perhaps get it checked out especially if your resting rate is usually a lot lower.
Krusty
was you at the doctors/hospital or did you take it yourself at home?
Hi Alan
I was at home I have a blood pressure machine so it does it for me.
My blood pressure was good 120/79
Thanks
Hi Krusty
I would not trust a home BP machine to take my heart rate accuratly. Try taking it yourself
Put the first fingers of your hand onto the inside of your wrist you should be able to feel a pulsing sensation. You may need to move your fingers around to find the pulse. Now count how many times it pulses in 1 minute. That is your heart rate
Hi,
I am not sure what the outcome was here but I am 20 weeks with my first baby and have noticed that over the past week my heart rate has significantly increased. It gets up to about 120 when i do simple things around the house and i can hear and feel it in my ears.
Is this normal? i called the birthing centre and they just said to rest - they also mentioned it could be due to a lack of iron? I am vegetarian?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
Megan
Hi msearle
It could be due to a couple of things.
Lack of Iron - Get your iron and ferrin levels checked by your Doc. Take an iron suppliment a liquid one is better but usually nore expensive.
Blood volume - Your Blood volume will increase by about 80% by the time you are 36 weeks. Rest and take things easy until your body adjusts to the increase in blood volume.
Hogh Blood Pressure - Get this checked as soon as you can.
There are also a number of othere things that could cause the feeligs you are getting. If it is happening everytime you you do simple tasks and continues to happen for a week or more then it would be a good idea to get checked out
Hi Alan,
Thanks so much. I will book in to see me GP and have some blood tests.
Cheers,
Megan
