IUD removal??

Hi, not sure if this is the right thread but anyway...
I had a 'merina' IUD inserted just over a year ago, after a couple of months of heavy bleeding, developing into anemia and blood transfusions. Apparently a d & c was done while they were inserting IUD as they found a small fibroid (which may have been the cause of the bleeding ITFP).
My DP and i decided we would ttc, so i had the IUD removed approx 3 weeks ago. I got my period 3 days later and it was extremely heavy for 4 days, then lighter for another 4. I don't know if this is normal after having an IUD removed ornot.The doctor said it could take up to 3 months before i ovulate again, so i'm not sure if it was a period or just a reaction to having the IUD out.
I was wondering if anyone else in here has had a IUD removed, and could let me know what happened to them. Thank you...

Sorry Lea, I haven't had one removed. But I recently had a Mirena fitted and my gynae said that she had some patients fall pg in the first month after removal. So it definitely could be AF and you could definitely get pg sooner than 3 months. It is probably one of those things that varies from woman to woman. Good luck with TTC.

Hope everything goes as smoothly for you as it did for me with it in, my periods ended up just being a bit of spotting after a few months, was great lol
