Sore Belly??
Happy 3rd trimester to me! Hello everyone - pleased to be joining you on the home straight.
Does anyone else have a sore belly? Every night for the past week, my belly feels like it's "stinging" across the middle. It's quite uncomfortable - particularly if I try to move, bend, etc. At first I thought it was just my belly button, but it's actually the whole area to the left of my belly button. It really hurts! I was worried at first, but I don't think it's baby related - it feels more superficial (feels better if I rub it, put ice on it, have a bath).
I wonder if it is the skin stretching?
Any other suggestions??

Hi there,
I have had the same thing throughout my pregnancy - stinging belly, very superficial pain though. It tended to come and go. I put it down to my belly growing and stretching my skin. It would last for a couple of days then go away only to come back a few weeks later. I have assumed that my skin hurts for a while and then gets used to the new size???
I have no medical proof of this though. Just my guess!

I know all too well how that feels. A chiro told me it was because my back was out and it was putting extra pressure on my lower region because I was compensating for my back being out by adjusting my posture. After a few sessions at the chiro my poor belly feels more normal.
Hope this helps.

Hi Ezz
You are right it isvusually caused by your skin stretching. Try using some Vit E cream it may help

Went to see GP today. He agrees that it is because of the stretching. Said I need to rest in the afternoons (I do feel better after I've had a lie-down for an hour or two).
But, he said that it also looks like I am developing a small hernia above my belly button. Something to keep an eye on.
