tap water
what are your experiences with introducing tap water and at what age is recommended. my daughter is 12 1/2months old and i gave her a cup of water with half boiled and half tap water for two days in a row, she then on the third day got a mild case of the runs... would this be from the introduction of tap water?
what, how and when should i try again and is getting the runs a common thing to occur from this?

I started introducing tap water at about 7 months when we first started her with a sippy cup but back then she really was only taking few sips so no reactions.
I'm not sure bout the whole runs thing. I guess there is a chance cause her body might be adjusting to whatever is in tap water? I don't know. I just would've thought it would've happened sooner than day 3?
Could also be a coincidence as alot illnesses are going around at the moment.
Sorry don't think I've been much help!

Dh got cranky with me a few months ago when he realised i was giving the girls boiled cooled tap water, rather than water straight from tap. He was talking about fluride (sp?) and how syd water is extremely pleasant tasting compared to other countries...so ive been giving girls tap water ever since. Havent noticed anything different in their bowels though...

I started giving tap-water in unsterilised containers when they started licking the floors and trying to chew the cat's ears. I figured that floor and act's ears are probably dirtier than the tap water.

I agree...I'm not particularly worried about the tap water...I'm a bit slack really...I do use filtered water though...
