Is there are safe insect repellent to use?

Hi,

Just thought i would check.

I am not too keen on using Aeroguard, but it seems that every single mossie in the world is attracted to me now that i am pg and i dont want to spend the next 5 months itching.

Anyone got any solutions? Would prefer to stay away from chemicals as much as possible as i am sure that the baby could do without a dose of whatever it is that they put in that stuff.

I use Robocan (made by Bayer Animal Health) which contains natual pyrethrins.

I have never tried it but I have heard that lemon oil works really well.

From a farm supplier business. Google "Robocan" and it will take you to the Bayer website, perhaps it has suppliers on there.

There are natural insect repellants around, with lots of essential oils and things in them.. but you'd have to check the ingredients and be sure each oil is safe for pg. There's not many essential oils you can put on the skin during pg and even then it has to be very low concentration.

.. on 2nd thoughts.. those natural ones might not be any good LOL. Sorry!

heh - you could try those ultrasonic thingies that you wear.. supposed to repel the mozzies! LOL - no idea if they really work tho!

I use to have one of those keyring things - think that is the same thing that you are talking about. Well, i didnt mind it but eveyone else refused to sit with me due to the high pitch squeal that it continually gave off. think i would prefer to have people sit with me - may be they have improved since i bought the last one:D
