Teeth at 8 wks??
Our little girl has a lot of wind which we have been dealing with. However the last couple of days when I go in to settle her (crying after being put down) or when she awakes, we notice she is trying to put her fist into her mouth. She also cries while doing this. I have felt her gums and it all feels firm the whole way around. Could it be her starting to teeth? She does have a little bit of drool, but its pretty minor, definitely nothing substantial.
Can she be teething at such a young age?

Hi Moglie,
I've heard of early teethers, but never this early. Could she be hungry??? I know my DD, Colby, tends to suck her fists when she is hungry.
You said that she has wind at the moment too. I think with some babies that when they are "windy" they tend tend too suck their fist in an attempt to be fed and therefore burped.
If you are really worried about it talk too your CHN or your GP.
HTH!

My cousin's son was born with two teeth!

Both my bubs got their teeth at 12 weeks and what you have described is how they behave. Jake is 4 months 3 weeks and has had two teeth for a long while now.
Could be teeth.

Milo got 2 teeth a week apart at 12 weeks old.
I also know one baby who was born with a tooth.

I've heard of babies being born with teeth, but my little one is 6 weeks old and he does exactly what you described. I've just been putting it down to being hungry, but after reading some of the responses i'm getting a little nervous.

Oscar just loves sucking on his fists  But he does tend to suck on them / a dummy / me if he has tummy pain too and if he is hungry. May be teething but may just be a pain or hunger - or just a new discovery that tastes pretty good ;)
