I was just wondering what sleep patterns other people's 14 month olds have. My son is all over the place and we are thinking of trying to get into a set nap or two a day, but not sure.

Hey supa_star
at 14months your toddler needs to have around 12-15hrs of sleep in a 24 hr period, with a 2-3 day sleep
Jay is 15mnths and sleeps for 12hrs at night  and has one day sleep of around 1-2hrs, late morning
hope this helps

Hi!
Krystal is 15 months and has never had any type of routine, or set nap times. althought she does wake everyday between 8-8.30, no matter if she went to sleep @ 7.30pm or 11pm. she wakes at least once a night (on the odd occasion she will sleep right thru)
She has a nap usually around 1-2 till about 3-5.
i have issues still with her feeding to sleep, which is really hard on us because she doesn't sleep till she is ready.
At 14 motnhs DS transitioned from 2 sleeps a day to 1. It took a while to transition to just one sleep as he would be extremely tired all day, but eventually he got there, now he just has 1 2-3 hour sleep per day. For a while there he would have two days of having 1 sleep then one day of 2 sleeps to catch up, they sort it out themselves, you just have to be patient and hope they srt themselves out sooner rather than later. GL
my 15mth DS sleeps about 12 hours overnight - we put him down at 7pm every night, then he usually wake anywhere between 6.45am-7.30am. sometimes he wakes overnight, thats typically because we got his layers wrong, ie too hot or too cold. then during the day, he has one sleep (has had one sleep since about 11mths old). i put him down between 11.30-12pm, and he'll sleep anywhere between 1.5hrs and 3.5hrs, depending on how much activity he's had in the morning!
14 months is a tough age - from memory that's about the time that they are transitioning from 2 days sleeps to 1, which makes every day unpredictable. Now is probably a good time to start aiming for one nap a day. I find lunchtime works best - say 12ish if he can last that long, otherwise they get too tired again at the end of the day. See how you go introducing that as a routine - it works best to go out in the morning - shopping or park - or some play at home that wears him out a bit. Then have lunch, story and bed. Good luck with it.
