What a day i've had....
Well ladies...
I ever even hint of wanting to TTC #2, talk me out of it!
Yesterday was yet another eventful day at the hospital, and it was meant to be a simple GTT and Midwife check!
Got there at 8am, there was 8 of us all doing the test, so i had to wait till 8:25 to even get it started! After drinking that grose drink i thought i would check in for my midwives appointment at 11.10am. So reception could not find my history.... and suprise, suprise it was still in emergency! (spent the night there on Thrusday with excruishating pain)
I was just chilling in the waiting room, when they called my name and showed me to a room! There was 2 obs, 2 midwives (1 was a trainee). They were asking me questions about my abdominal pain, and tested my urine.... which showed protein!
Obs asked trainee to do my temp and BP.... she tells them it's 150/80, obs tells her to do it again.... still at 150/80. Obs than actually came over and checked it herself. I nearly fall off the bed when she announced that it was 150/80! As all my other BP's have been really, really low.
In the mean time the other obs was feeling my tummy for where it is sensitive and found that baby was head down and fundal height was measuring 32 weeks - i'm only 25 weeks. She also got the other obs to check that. And they went and got an ultra sound machine to have a propper look and rough measure.
I didn't leave that room till 11:30... they had the path girls come and drain blood from me there, otherwise i would have to do it all again. I didn't like the sound of that at all!
So he's a big bugger and I have Pre-eclampsia (call me stupid but i didn't even realise that abdo pain was a symptom, and at this stage i don't have any other symptoms).
So obs wrote my boss a letter stating that i am to go on maternity leave immediatly! And now my life consists of watching every little thing that happens to me, and medical appointments. At this stage i am booked in for ultra sounds every 2 weeks, and will see the obs every monday. And if anything happens inbetween i am to go to emergeny immediatly.
Obs has instructed me to have everything i need packed for hospital!!!!!!! So i'm sorta freaking! But at the same time feeling un usually calm about it all cause i know i'm in the best place for it!
So have a ultra sound tomorrow at 4pm, and obs on monday also anestic (sp) person... not 100% sure as to why i'm meeting them so soon!
So ladies any pain in the abdo call the midwives!
Love Kirby

Wow Kirby. That's great that you've been diagnosed though, and now it can be managed. So what happens now, do they do something to lower your blood pressure?
All the best.

Kirbstar, that is a very eventful day.
I hope you can manage it without having to go to the hospital, but what a nuisances.
I hope you and baby are all ok.

wow Kirby its sure been an eventful pregnancy! Wishing you all the best and hoping that everything goes smoothly for you and bub. i guess you'll be spending lots of time on belly belly now with so much time to fill

I'm sorry you're having a bit of a difficult pregnancy, hoping everything works out perfect for you and bubs which I'm sure it will. All those appointments don't sound like too much fun but think of the end result...that little bubba in your arms :)
Hugs to you

Holy cow....Kirby, good thing it's been picked up now!!! How are you doing?

Thanks for all the replies ladies....
I have that much spare time (with lots of stuff to do at home, but DH won't allow anything) i don't know what to do with myself... is that crazy or what?
So yesterday we had another ultra sound (growth scan) and all the woman told me was he was a good size... so now i have an appointment on Monday and will find out lots more. Can't wait - cause i sort of feel like i'm in the dark a little. The only thing i know is bubba is healthy and rocking and rollin inside of me!
Also too, i'm hopless with computer... so if someone could tell me how to add a photo of our beautiful boy, i would. Just a bit silly when it comes to that sort of stuff.
Other than that i feel quite well within myself. Have noticed that i get really light headed in shopping centres, but as soon as i rest or sit in fresh air i feel fine. I'm just puting that down to pregnancy in general.... let me know what you think?
Love Kirby
