Dry, hacking cough ... HELP!

Does anyone have any natural remedy that would work on a dry, hacking cough? This bloody cough has caused me to have a massive nosebleed from all the dry coughing and noseblowing. My nosebleed took 1 1/2 to completely stop. My problem is the cough is still here and I am trying to suppress it so that it doesn't irritate my nasal canal to cause a further bleed. The nosebleed was so scary... it was like water coming out from a tap...

When I'm snuffly I usually melt some honey in some hot water, with a slice of lemon and a slice of ginger. If I'm not preg or needing to drive I put a teaspoon of scotch in the first one I have for the day just to try and kill anything in my throat lol. You can also just try putting lemon and honey in tea instead of sugar and milk
