So has anyone tried it? I've been looking at patterns & can't seem to find anything nice or that isn't out of the 70s LOL! Anyone have any good pattern suggestions?

i have a friend that works out maternity clothes by taking the clothes people like now, using them as a pattern, and altering it a little - we've already talked about when i get pg what sort of things she'll be making for me! thankfully for me, i don't mind the babydoll-ish style clothes that cut in under the bust a bit - otherwise clothes that fit my chest properly go over my bbs, then just hang down over my tum, or is stretched too tight over my bb's anyway (damn being a busty wench!)
Whats wrong with the 70's LMAO!
I feel sooo uncrafty... but you'll have to post some pics of anything you do make ;)
I found our spotlight have some nice maternity patterns, maybe try there?
I have some if you want to borrow them
BG there is no way I'd even consider it, I need an exact pattern to go off or I'm in big trouble!!
Cai 70s, mmmm ok as a rule, but maternity no way. I think they just said hey here is a great big floral sack, lets put arm holes in it LOL!
Going to check out Spotlight & Lincraft when I'm next at the shops ;)
Louise I just found a nice pattern for a top, dress & pants on ebay, cost me $5.50 inc postage from the US (niiiice!) so I'll see how I go with that then take you up on your offer :)
where's your sense of adventure Sarah??
the friend usually makes a paper pattern from what she creates so that we can make it again - and we use some really cheap material first time to make sure it's going to work - so far, no flops!
Finally my pattern & fabric (pink linen, so nice!) arrived, so I'll get started next week. The cool thing is there is a pattern for shorts & a t-shirt in it as well, so rather than make them as clothes I thought they'd be great pyjamas :)
noice! time to get adventurous hunny!!
I found some really nice maternity patterns just in the butterick/mcalls etc catalogues, just normal type clothes too. Vogue has some classy looking dresses too for those special occassions!
I havent made any up yet rofl but will get there soon :D
