Dusty a chemical pregnancy is where the egg is fertilised but fails to implant, so you may have the chemical reaction to cause a BFP, but AF arrives shortly after.
Hi hun.
A chemical pregnancy is when you have fertilisation and the embrio starts to implant, so you register a BFP, but there is something not quite right with the embie so you miscarage. It generally comes as a late heavy period.
From what I hear, is is quite common, and it you werent TTC and testing you would often never know.

thanks ladies - very clear :)
Hello,
I've just had a chemical pregnancy this week and just found out yesterday.... my heavy AF just arrived :( (miscarry)... hopefully we'll have better luck next cycle.
I have been told this is very common also... and most women dont even know it's happened. I picked mine up because i was testing with hpts and got faint positives for 3 days before my BT result confirmed with a negative.... had many symptoms of pregnancy too... sore BBs etc... they are all gone now.
Ren, Sorry you have had to go through this. It is not fun..
Having had a couple myself I know your pain.
Hope you have a very sticky pg soon.
xo
Ren so sorry we have just been through the same thing
Thanks girls. I'm sorry you both had to experience it also. I wish i hadnt have tested so early but ah well, first month ttc, i was excited... i've learnt to wait til AF is late a few days now....
I'm ok... it gives me hope though that DH and i can conceive and that something happened so there is hope for next month.... lots of ppl have these things happen and can go on to have healthy pregnancies so i have every high hope this can happen for us.
Wishing you all the best girls also... :hugs:
