18month vaccination
My DD is 18 months old and she today has had her chicken pox vac. The nurse administrating the vac did say that 1 in 20 get the rash within 5-10 days after and if this is the case the fluid in the blisters will be contagious!! I didnt think much at the time but we have been home for an hour and i am now panicing as i am 32 wks pg, she didnt make any coments to me about if this happens if i should worry. Has anyones toddler had the rash appear? where they unwell b4 the blisters? Did anyone catch chicken pox from them if this is the case? I know 1/20 does not mean a huge risk that she will get the rash but still something for me to worry about. I phoned a friend and she said her sister didnt get her DS vaccinated because of this risk while pg.

Nat, I was pg when Jack had his chicken pox vax. We delayed it to make sure I was past the first trimester on my ob's advice but she said it was fine after the first trimester. And I am sure that the nurse wouldn't have done it if there was a risk, you are probably showing. So please don't worry, everything will be fine.

I've just had my DS vax for chicken pox and he was fine. I asked my OB about it before he had the jab and she said it was OK to go ahead.
