Whats going on??

Hi everyone, well this morning I thought I was getting contractions. I had period like pain and my lower back started to tense up along with my groin area. I timed them, they came every 12 mins, but only came 3 times, then stopped.
I have been walking around and my lower tummy feels alot heavier than usual. Im not sure as when I saw my OB last thurs the bubs head was hardly engaged.
I was starting to get excited, then they stopped...
Does anyone know if this could be the start of things happening??

I'm no expert, but definately sounds like its the start of things to me!! If i were you, I'd be doing lots of walking (but not too far from home!!!). Sounds like your not too far away from holding your baby now! Good luck!!

I've had that happen to me about 5 times. Went between 4-6 hours each time, got to 3 minutes apart and then they tapered off and stopped. I was told it's your uterus getting ready for the big event and they are good for you and mean things are getting ready. I haven't had any for about a week now.

I've been having BAD period cramps, lower backache (to the point where it's excruciating), pain in the top of my right hip and legs, pain in my bump, pain in my cervix, stronger BH - for about 2 weeks now. Constantly - but sometimes it'll get a bit worse (to the point where I'm going to pass out) but then die down back to 'manageable'. I did time the BH and belly pains a few times, but it always goes back to irregular.

I haven't taken anything for the pain though, not even a heat pack. I want to get used to each thing that comes up (i'm weird, I know).

The doc told me yesterday that's it's totally normal and it's just my body gearing up for birth. It's soooo past being 'uncomfortable' but all we can do is just wait it out I guess

Yeah Tracey I know what u mean by ' uncomfortable ', I had to have an internal yesterday and my cervix was still really high and the ob did a stretch and sweep. I nearly went through the wall!! It was sooo painful, I never imagined it would hurt so much. It felt like he shoved his whole ARM up there!! He said he had to go so far up cause my cervix was high up.
Well I am booked in to be induced next friday, so it will be all over for me soon enough...

This might be a good sign, not long to go …
My bub was not engaged until I was overdue and I didn’t have any obvious labour signs at all.
Anyway, I was scheduled for induction on Tuesday and the bub decided to come the Friday before that :)
So for me, all the contractions (felt like the period pain) started on Friday morning (three days after my S&S)
The good thing was my labour was quite quick, I went to the hossy at 10 and had bub at 12.30

Sorry to hear the S&S was so painful though - but at least you know it'll be over soon! (I kinda envy women with c-section dates because they KNOW, you know?)
