Just curious to know, those of you who have given their children a naming ceremony over a christening, what happens? And did you still get to nominate God Parents?
Thanks.

Yep you can still nominate godparents and have special people do readings etc if you want them too. It is normally held in a park or person's home etc. We have had naming ceremonies for all 3 boys performed by a celebrant. We have had full say in what we wanted as well.

Thanks Astrolady, that sounds exactly what we are after. Don't want to do anything formal, just have a BBQ, with close family and friends. But we still wanted to be able to nominate godparents, so this sounds great. Just have to find a naming celebrate now :)
Most celebrants that do weddings etc, do naming ceremonies as well. The celebrant that married us did 2 of the boys, Unfortunately she was unavailable for Ashton's so we had to get in someone else. We found our original celebrant in the local paper.

I agree, maybe if you could ask the same celebrant who did your wedding to do the ceremony, I'm doing that and just working out dates with her ATM.
Thanks ladies, don't think I'll be asking the guy who did our wedding though, he was very rude. I did see a lady in the local childrens mag, that does it. Might call her about costs etc. Speaking of which, how much does it normally cost, just curious to know?
Mine is costing $250 but it's $300 usually, we got a discount because we're repeat business.
