TTC after Laparoscopy

Hi :)
On Thursday which was CD5 for me I had a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and hyrdrotubation (checking the tubes with blue dye).
Everything came back as all clear, no abnormalities, no endo, just all clear functioning reproductive system.
I go back to get the stitches out tomorrow (Monday) and I still have a very slight loss. AF had just finished overnight before the procedure so I am surprised there was anything left to bleed afterwards but oh well..
How long is it normal to have loss afterwards?
Do I have to wait the cycle out to TTC? or will it be harmful if we TTC in a few days when I get closer to O.
I know tat question will prove to be irrelevant as I se the RE tomorrow anyhow but..
from personal experience what has anyone noticed after a Lap+ procedure?

Any experience of what to look out for etc would be most appreciated.

I had the exact same proceedure on the 30th of May this year, and I too had a very light AF, but I was told by our FS that my tubes were completely blocked, not a drop went through. We still TTC in that cycle (was the only the once) and now we're almost 18w pregnant after almost 18 months of trying!!!

Haven't had any complications, it's all well and good, and as our FS said, sometimes we just need a "spring clean" to get things moving again!

There is a rumour that you can become extremely fertile after this op, and whilst our FS refuted it, our pregnancy is proof to us!!!

I had a lap in July. It was done mid cycle so i had to wait for the real AF before ttc again. I had light bleeding for about 5 days. I was given the "all clear" too, nothing nasty in there.
The rumours must be true about being more fertile. I had ewcm for the first time ever (only had watery before that) after the lap and we also fell pregnant the first cycle. Unfortunatly we had a m/c but that didnt have anything to do with the op.

I must say I am unsure of whether I will get pg this cycle. I am still bleeding and it is red and stringy but only seems to be when I go to the toilet. I just can't see how anything could implant into such a weak lining.
Had you stopped bleeding by ovulation time?

my second lap and hyst i got AF the day after which went on for days! your bleeding cld just be the after effects. my surgeon (who is amazing) said go for it when ever we wanted as there was no time to loose with our age ;)

King Island.. so does that mean your IVF was to be with TasIVF and Bill Watkins? I know he travels up to the coast to Burnie as a friend in Yolla saw him for her IVF.

I would love to have your repeat happen with me lol.. what a wonderful story you have there hun.

I had the same procedure done in November last year and our FS encouraged us to TTC that same cycle. I ovulated about 5 days after the procedure and was fine to TTC.

Unfortunately it was our last ditch effort and wasn't successful but there was definitely no harm in trying!

We fell prg 2 months later on our first IVF cycle.

I had bleeding for a couple of days after my lap, then shortly after about 4 days of spotting and then af came 3 days early. This is cycle no. 2 post-lap so i have my fingers crossed!

I reckon when your body feels ready to dtd then go for it... you might feel tender and not inclined for a little while. goodluck! and i'm glad you had the all clear!

Angelicdragon - That was the man with the plan ... Dr Bill Watkins, and whilst we didn't need him in the end (only by a whisker! ;) ) I'd recommend him to anyone, he's sooooo passionate about helping infertile couples and will go the extra mile to help you in any way he can ....

So wonderful to find a Dr that's not cynical/burntout/only interested in money ...

I had a laparoscopy last june, where they found I had one tube blocked due to endo. I was recommended to go on fertility drugs and was planning on starting...but it turned out I was pregnant already. You know how they tell you not to TTC before the operation because you can't be pregnant during it....well we didn't listen and we were pregnant. Despite everything, our baby was fine and born in Feb. :pray:
To answer your question...I had a light bleed and only for a couple of days. My gyno/op told us to keep TTC straight away. I say, the more sex, the more chances of success.:lol:

Hi Tash wow and your hospital didn't do a test before hand?
When I was admitted I had to pee in a cup so they could do a HPT, even though I told them I had had a beta hcg only a week before at 12dpo and it was less than 2 AND I was on day 5 the last day of AF but they still HAD to test for pg. I am soo glad your baby stuck thru it all and arrived safely.

Diva Bill is a wonder isn't he. What makes it even better is my OB once I do get pg is just as amazing. he has no qualms at al with us TTC over 40. When I asked he said his oldest mum and a natural pg at that .. was aged 47 so he said we had a few years yet up our sleeves. It just took us a while seeing GPs before we could get to this stage :(
I did see him last year too and on our 2nd visit I was able to tell him I was pg naturally (7wks with a heartbeat) and he wished us a good life, go and enjoy.. well we lost Joey at 11w4d and then miraculously fell pg straight away but lost Ethan at exactly 7 wks after seeing a heartbeat at 6 weeks. We had the full testing for genetics/chromsones an dall chromosones perfect and a boy so even though only 7 weeks we named him Ethan.
So since the losses that is why Bill has done al the blood testing and now the lap+ and everything comes up celar.
Thats why he suggested IUI and then IVF coz obviously after all this time, nearly a year now and no lines at all, it is not just going to happen so we go the next step.

It is a week today since the lap/hys/HSG and finally the bleeding seems to have eased off.

Definately love love LOVE Bill ... and just to give you a bit more hope, my mum got pg naturally at 46 :o , and she was perimenapausal at the time!!!

He'll be a fantastic OB when your time comes darl ... if we weren't seeing the fabulous Dr Foote he'd definately be at the top of our list!!!

This Bill guy sounds great. I was really disappointed with my Ob, he just didn't seem to care, just getting as many babies in and out as possible in a day...which goes hand in hand with them not getting me to do a pee test before my op. I was 5 weeks pregnant at that stage, so it would have definitely showed up in a test. My hubby was really worried that it was going to affect our baby some how, like that he'd come up with green hair because of the dye.
I wish you the best of luck TTC. I can only image it is very hard to lose a baby, but have faith in knowing you can get pregnant and it is only a matter of time. My thoughts and wishes are with you.

I had the same procedure ....they found endo and cleared it up . I then feel pregnant they cycle after the operation!...I agree with the spring clean is all we need sometimes hehe
