Are two feeds enough?
Hi there
My baby is um...about 16 months old(had to think for a minute there) and at the moment we really only do a morning and night feed. Occasionally if we are home and I have the time we might breastfeed once during the day.
Is this enough to keep breastfeeding for some time to come? I don't mind weaning (I'd LOVE to wear a proper bra and a dress again) but don't want it to happen by accident from not feeding enough. She doesn't always seem to feed for very long it can be from 2minutes up to 10 minutes.
How long has this (breastfeeding twice a day) gone on for most people?
thanx stax

I fed my kids like that for ages, right down to only a night feed before complety weaning. You can do what your doing for as long as you like, provided she eats well on solids and other fluids. With a healthy diet your little girl can feed how ever you both like. Thats just my opinoin!!

Hi,
As long as you breastfeed, you will have milk for those feeds. 2 feeds at 16mnths is fine - breastfeed for as long as you and your baby desire

We are down to 2 breastfeeds a day, been like that for a few weeks now. All seems to be going well.

We have been at three feeds a day for about six months. If I'm not around she misses the middle one before her nap (but takes it when I pick her up). She shows no signs of wanting to give up any of those feeds and only cut back from four to three when she stopped one of her naps, so I'm guessing it's almost become a habit now to have the three feeds she's having.
Good luck with continuing as long as you both want!
