Zander has been sleeping very very badly the last few nights. His teeth are giving him trouble I think - every time I go into him he's chewing on his blankets, hands or sheets. Poor bubba :(

We have a big rest of the week - MG today, shopping with the Sydney BB girls tomorrow, work Friday, work Saturday - I wish it was Sunday LOL!

Hey Ladies

I'm back!!!! Almost just in time for me to leave again. LOL!

Welcome to the new ladies and bubs, time flies with a baby, well, I think so.

I will try to catch up with all the goss in here, but they have shut the last page so I have decided that I will have to catch up as I go along.

Had a brilliant holiday in Sunny Qld, bummer to come home to wet Melb, but had to happen sooner or later. Found some massive bargains in Qld, so Hayley has a nice little wardrobe of clothes for summer.

Almost school holidays again, yuk! At least the sleeping in is good.

Great news!!! Hayley changed her routine while we were away and she has been brilliant ever since. In bed by 9pm and sleeps through to between 7-9am. Amazing!!!

Had our 6 month check up last week. She is now 6.9kgs, not bad for a premmie! Is only 63cm, so I guess she will be short, the other girls are. Had yet another argument with the MCHN, she was not happy that I have put Hayley on solids and she is doing brilliantly! Very bad idea according to her. Usually I wouldnt have said anything, I just get Hayley weighed, measured and tell her nothing BUT she actually had students with her, and I knew that she would have to be more polite than usual.

On the subject of MCHN! I did notice that a few of you are having a hassle and ending up upset about comments! My advice, do whatever you think is right in your heart, you are the one who knows your baby best, not some damn woman who sees them for 5 mins a month. The problem is that they seem to think that all babies fit into their book that they learn from, they dont, every baby is different. I have always asked advice from other mothers, mostly my own mother when she was alive, and although things change, the advice that they gave me was invaluable.

Okay, I just thought that I would pop my head in before Hayley and I graduate, doesnt time fly. I am in the midst of organising Hayley's naming ceremony, so that is always fun, not!!! Its the first big family thing that I am doing without my Mum and I am not coping the best. She has been gone 8 yrs today and whoever said it gets easier was wrong!!

Sarah - yep... you're right...no AF for over a year is still pretty good :)
Gabby is good. She ended up having 2 serves of farex and pumpkin yesterday. One after her lunch time nap and one and hour before her bed time bottle. She scoffed the lot and loved it! I won't be doing that every day - she just seemed a little hungry last night and hadn't been up long enough to have her bed time bottle (and she'd already had a go at the boobs twice!).

Dinky - yay for Hayley's new routine! Sounds like the holiday went really well for all of you! :hugs: for you. I can't imagine not having my Mum around. I hope Hayley's naming day goes really well and helps to ease the stress a little once it finally gets here. Poo @ your MCHN yet again! Some good advice there (from you... not her!! ;) ).

Had a bad night with alex last night i just hope it's not his antibiotics doing it to him. When he was not taking them he would only wake once and would have his last milk feed at 5 or 6pm. Now is he feeding every 4 hours even at night. He woke at 4.30 and took 10mls of milk and would not take any more so i put him back to bed thinking he would cry but he just went back to sleep until 7.30am. It does not help when Kimberley then gets up at 5.25 then at 6.10 she is kicking me out of bed to get up all this is going on while DH is asleep well half awake at 6.

I am trying him on babyrice again gave him some this morning but he did not seem to like it this time. He's also started to take less milk as well.

Feel crap this morning. had a shocking night in the house that ended up wiht me having a yell at shane at 3:30, and then him sleeping in the spare room.

She was awake that many times last night, I guess its her teeth. Cranky little madam. But its not all bad because from 6-8am this morning, she woke up, and drifted back to sleep completely by herself (no dummy) 3 times.

Portraits done this morning. A little simple, nad I looked crap, but oh well. She looked gorgeous, and lets face it, thats what counts. We only got her in an old fashioned smocked dress, and nudies. I'll get more shots done in NZ I think.

Time for some sleep. Sorry no personals. Am TIRED.......

Neil rang before and sent me into town to buy an awning (sp?) for the caravan he's doing up as a shop front. Talk about a mad rush. One minute I was in my jammies, the next I was showered and dressed and Gabby was fed and dressed. Thankfully I managed to get the thing he wanted - it was the last one.
When we got home, I gave Gabby a taste of some apples in her farex (since it's obvious that she has no probs with pumpkin). She loved it! Gosh she was pulling the funniest faces tho. She must have thought it was a bit sour. Soooo cute!

Fi - Must be time to yell at our partners I had a go at Mark on Tuesday night and he was in a no talking mood yesterday [-( but I just can`t stay cross with him for any lengthy time like I used too, Mark reckons it`s my Mummy hormones LOL

Hi All,

Hannah and I have been AWOL a little while now... It's good to be back! I've had to prepare a presentation to speak at a family support conference in Brisbane (I spoke on the 9th) and didn't have much time to hang around BB in the lead up to that, and then I was away a few days in Bris. It all went really well! I was so worried that Hannah would misbehave...but she was an angel. She sat up the back and must have just been content listening to my voice over the mic. She's been whingy ever since we got back however! She's such a little chatterbox - she's constantly talking to herself and to anyone who'll listen. Very cute. She's about 7.4kg now...still following that 90th percentile line... Other than that - she's still on antibiotics and cortisone cream for the nasty eczema on her chest. Hasn't been sleeping...I saw every hour last night, and every half hour from 4am. I was ready to give her away. Luckily, the light of day made a difference to my mood and despite having had no sleep, I am thinking a little more clearly. Sometimes it's so tough being a mum - but so worth it...

I am not going to attempt to do personals...will try to catch up on the last couple of weeks though so at least I know what everyone is talking about!

Shannon, yay for another good night! Glad Jess likes the baby einstein mirror you got her. I had a look in our Target (just a country one) but they didn't have it. How are you going with Jess in the bath? I think I remember a while ago you were trying to figure out whether to give her a deep bath or shallow bath??

Kynan slept for 15 hours yesterday!! He didn't wake up until 10am. We got him weighed yesterday and he was 6.78kg. That's only a bit over 400g in 4 weeks but the CHN didn't seem concerned. He usually put on more than that but I guess his weight gain is leveling out a bit now.

Missed your post Juliette (didn't realise there was a page 2 already LOL #-o ). Wow @ Hannah bein 7.4kg! Fingers crossed the eczema clears up soon. What a shocker of a night you had! Sleep deprivation is horrible isn't it! I'm so glad Kynan is sleeping so well now. Hopefully Hannah will settle into a good sleeping routine soon too!

Ella saw an ENT specialist at Royal Childrens Hospital yesterday. Her hearing is a whole lot worse than they first thought and her ear canals are very small. They can't see her eardrums, she can't hear noise, but at least they think they will be able to fix her up. We have to go back again as she needs to be seen by the audiologist and ENT surgeon.

Because they can't see the eardrum, she is on amoxil just in case there is fluid in her ears, but it has given her the runs and her little bottom is soooo red.

Other than leaving her nappy off does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can put on her bottom??? The cream I use just isn't working ](*,)

Oh no, Angela. That's no good to hear that Ella's hearing was worse than first thought. Good to hear that they can fix it tho. I don't have any suggestions about her poor little bottom. I hope someone else has got some for you!

Angel - WOW @ Kynan's 15 hour sleep! I don't think Gabby has ever slept that long. Were you worried? I freaked out when she slept for 12 hours. It has never happened again (poo!). 400g in 4 weeks is still pretty good. I have put some pics of Gabby in her high chair on her site under her sixth month. She sits all wonky because she's still too small for the chair. I have to prop her up with a pillow. Oh for one of those more fancy high chairs that recline a little! lol

Juliette - good to hear your presentation went well. Good little Hannah! 7.4kgs is excellent! I still have to weigh Gabby but I would be stoked if she weighed that much (but I doubt it ;) ). Urrgh @ your rotten sleep last night. Any wonder you felt grumpy.

Shannon - yay for your great sleep last night! I agree - popping the dummy in is better than having to get up to feed. At least you can still sorta be half asleep to do the dummy thing. The baby einstein mirror sounds great. If we weren't so darn strapped for cash, I would go and check it out. It's always nice when you present them with a new toy. Gabby went nuts over her kick and whirl but now she doesn't show much interest. I have put it in the corner and will bring it out again in a week or so. Out of sight, out of mind!

Dee - have fun with your aunty and uncle. I bet they dote all over Matthew. You'll have to fill us in on the details of work. Will they let you take Matthew in?

I just spent the afternoon writing down Gabby's routine. I have this morbid fear of me dying and Neil not knowing what to do with Gabby when I am gone. I know... very silly BUT at least I can rest easy knowing he has a handy reference on the fridge. I just have to update it (scribble stuff out and write over the top of it, LOL) whenever something changes. Neil just laughs at me. Still, it might come in handy if and when he needs to be at home with Gabby for longer than a few hours (cars break down, stuff happens - it MAY just come in handy!!). Ok... so I am a little loopy... but you get that!
