What am i doing wrong??

Hi girls,
I need your help.
I have been using OPK's for the last couple of months and have had positives both months. When i get a positive i have been BD within 24-36 hours of each one.

Is it possible to get a positive OPK and not ovulate?? im clutching at straws here, i just dont understand why its not happening, im sure we are BD at the right time each month so whats going wrong??
I know i havent been TTC for all that long but i really didnt think it was going to be this hard.

Any ideas??

Sweet I know how you feel...I always have in the back of my mind that I get positive OPK's Ferns and what not...but what if I'm not releasing eggs. If nothing happens this month I will probably go see a doc.

One doc said to me, you may fertilize the egg - but it has to attatch itself to the lining... this is the hard bit...

Nutty Wife, your looking at your ferns?? can you tell me how long they last for. Sorry to High jack Dee (no ones replied to my post). Do you show ferns from the time you O till AF comes?

Dee, Looking at your other reply, I think you have it right, just relax for a month or two and let it happen...

I'm sure you're not doing anything wrong...

I read somewhere that even if you do everything right there is still only a 25% chance that the sperm will find the egg, fertilise and then implant in any given cycle.

I guess what I am saying is that you can only do so much and then you have to leave the rest to nature and hope and pray.

Girls please don't be too hard on yourselves.

I understand totally how frustrated you are at not being pregnant yet after all of your efforts. What i have learnt is that you can try all the tricks in the book and still not fall pregnant, as happened to me. We had given up and only BD once for the whole month (I didn't think it was any where near O) and I got pregnant.

I know that doesn't really help you, i guess what I'm trying to say is it WILL happen, but only when it wants to #-o Lets hope that this is your month [-o< !!

I'm not sure. With my PCOS, my understanding was that my body could go through the motions of ovulating, but the egg wasn't maturing enuf to be released/fertilised. So while I had a semi-regular period for a while there, chances were I wasn't ovulating properly.

Sorry... don't want to scare you with that! 8-[

Like Emma-Jane said it can take a healthy couple 6 or more months to concieve. And specialists won't usually see you until you've been trying for at least 6-12 months either.

I've read that reducing alcohol and caffeinne can improve fertility for both you and DH. My poor DH went about a year without his coffee (bless him hehe). Of course now we're pg he's back drinking his coffee & beer. It's alright for him! I'll be off all that for the next few years probably! hehe.

Try not to stress too much, as that can affect ovulation too. I'm sure you're doing nothing wrong. Hope you catch that eggy soon!

Dee - I know how you feel dear, we have all had the same feelings and they are not easy to grin and bear.. I too had been trying for a little while with the use of fortel opk.. I also went to see a Naturopath specialising in Fertility and we had a BFP after being on the vitamins and tonic for a short time.. ( still early days I am 9 weeks today) but touch wood all will be o.k.. I truely believe in a naturopath i have had a few friends who have been ttc for a long time ( one was trying for 5 years) and went along to a npath and have had great results!! It depends how you feel about it, but i can only say from my experience there is something to them...
