Just wondering if anyone has come accross Itchy nipples?
I am soely BFing DD, have had no mastitis or blocked ducts, but the last two days I have noticed that my nipples has been relatively itchy.
Has anyone else experienced it? If so whast could it be?

Could it be a thrush infecton?? sorry i dont know how mine felt when it started but i remember the agony i was in when it was full blown. Just keep an eye on them if it is thrush starting then you should get it treated asap.

Hi,
Are you prone to dry skin or eczema? Are you using a different shampoo or laundry powder? Does your baby have thrush? It should be something that is fairly easy to treat - but just a bit hard via the forum

DD doesnt have any signs of thrush that I can find. There are white bits on her gums (which i think is normal), and no where else on her mouth.
I sometimes use lux flakes to wash my bras with DD clothes (it makes them nice and soft), maybe that is the problem?
I dont use soap on or around them also, i avoid that area completly.
My nipples look normal to me, and it only seems to be the right nipple mostly.
I dont wear breast pads, unless I am particulary full if DD over sleeps. They annoy the buggerery out of me, and I find iritate my nipples (I think the trapped heat in that area from the backing of them).
When I was PG, I had really dry skin all over, and my nipples cracked then, but used Maracalan and they seemed okay from then on.
TIA

Hi,
Do you wear a bra to bed? Try to go without one. It might be a *****ly heat kind of thing - you may find icepacks relieve it. Or if it doesn't go away, go to the doctor for something to help
