My Darling Izzy has taken up Squealing lately - and its really giving me a headache and sore ears. . . is this a faze they go through - and when will it stoppppppp. . .
She squeals in the car, in her chair, when your holding her, its an excitment squeal but its soooo loudddd. . .
Anyone know how to stop her from doing it - im afraid shes going to damage her voicebox or our ears. . .

No suggestions, sorry. We tried everything to stop ds from doing it (he was especially piercing when I was trying to talk on the phone), he did grow out of it though. Although, in saying that it seems to be a thing that comes and goes... it would stop for a while then in a few weeks he'd rediscover it.
It is a very difficult thing to listen to isn't it! You have my sympathies...

:D LOL! Sorry its just so cute isnt it! Our Izzy has taken to doing this in the shopping centre at the moment and being Christmas I'm there quite a bit- it literally sounds like someone is being murdered and people walk past me with that combined smile of pity and laughing at her!!! I guess it's better than her crying!!

No advice but i know where you are coming from my DD started sqealing at about the same age. She is now 21months and sqeals when she is frustrated, happy etc etc. I try to tell her that indoors she needs to be quiet and only use her indoor voice but when she is 'emotional' she gets carried away. i will follow this thread though to see what advice you get.

No advice here either, I know my SIL said she would ignore DD when she did it but she was over 1 & knew she wasn't getting any attention...so would stop.
It's just part of them finding their voice & often it's squeels of delight so you know they are happy. Charlie started a long time ago & at 6am, ohhhh so annoying & usually takes it up a notch just when wanting to hear something on the news!!
Like Dee said, it will come & go. We thought it was over & all of a sudden "it's baaack"!!!he,he.

Its definitely a phase!!! Ethyn went thru it at about 4 months and has now as from a few weeks ago decided to start doing it again, but this time its 20 times louder than before!!!! I often wonder what the neighbours think when he is in that mood!!! :)
