chicken schnitzel Q
ok, just wondering about freezing a schnitzel..
i eat about 7-8 in a fortnight for dinner, i usually buy all the chicken, cut it up into thin fillets, and freeze, so that i can pull one out, crumb & cook..
my question is, is it ok to freeze the fillet already crumbed?? so if i have a mass crumbing session, then freeze...
i dont really see why not, but maybe there is a reason not to?? lol

Yes, it is fine Rach. Just make sure you defrost in the fridge (slow process) or in the microwave if (like me) you forget to take it out in time. Remember, if you buy them pre-crumbed from the butcher, you'd just chuck it in the freezer ;)

P.S. Now I want schnitzel for dinner tomorrow night! LOL

Also, when you freeze them rach (if you haven't already!), layer them in between freezer bags or glad wrap, so that you can separate them in to a single layer to defrost. Quicker, and if you have a huge amount, you can just count out how many you need. :)

Yep we crumb them and then freeze in packs of 2 so we pull out a pack for the night that we are going to have them :)

i freeze them wth baking paper in between each layer

yeah definitely crumb and freeze :D
