I really hope the answers yes, as its the only type of ham i like!

Merry Christmas!
Kell my Dr told me this about Christmas ham, which you'll be happy with ;) If you buy a whole leg ham with the skin still on & sealed you can slice some of the ham directly under the skin & have that without a problem. The ham is still sealed under the skin so there is little chance for listeria bugs to get into it. If it's a half leg ham it's a bit harder because part of the ham has been exposed creating a greater risk. In that case you can have some, just make sure it's from under the skin & away from the already cut part. Also make sure you get one that has been cryo-vacced in plastic rather than in netting. You can have it cold straight away, but even Christmas night it's best to heat it to hot because the meat would be exposed to the air.
HTH & you can enjoy it on Tuesday. I know I will be!
Thanks so much Sarah! WOOOHOO!! Thankyou!
Heat and eat, darl!
I'll be heating mine on Tuesday! There is no way I am missing out...
Am I allowed to eat christmas leg ham - the one you buy whole and carve yourself? I know I can't eat deli meats but not sure about this one?
Any help please?
alimumma, I just merged your thread with this one :)
Hi,
I just asked my OB this very question just yesterday...... She said that she personally would eat baked Christmas ham BUT that if going by the rule book then you shouldn't.
Me, I won't be eating ham. :(
