I was hoping to take Madeline to the pool today for the first time, however another mum I know told me that it isnt a good idea until she is at least 6 months old due to the chlorine. Is this just being ridiculous?

No, I don't think so. It's icky water and hurts your eyes.
I recently saw a girl poo in the babies pool and her mother did nothing about it......
I don't put my kids in public pools until they are over 12 months, but also as I don't immunise.
the only thing I was told was ti wait until after 4 month immunisations.
Or if not immunising I think Lulus 12 months is pretty sensible.
we took Jack at just under 4 months he is hardly ever sick and we went every week for 12 weeks then once spring started every week for 10 weeks
most mums I know take their littlies all the time....
having said that I USED to as well except Jake is currently prone to catching everything around which then triggers a middle ear infection so my GP has told me to avoid public pools atm... pain in the bum really ....
Thanks ladies for your advice. I have decided to wait till at least 4 months.
I took DS for the first time at Christmas but it was in Mum and Dad's pool which is salt water clorinated and I knew that it was very clean. I don't think I'll be going to public pools until at least 6 months.
Spring
I personally wait until over 12 months for public pools... maybe around 6 months for a private pool.
