help me LOL
wean myself of using Jacks angel care monitor we only have the 1 sensor pad and hasn't been a drama a few false alarms over time, but this last week we are having them everynight because he likes to sleep on his side at end of cot.
I said to Jase (DH) maybe we need to switch it to sound only, well last night after getting up for a 3rd time I switched it over walked out of room and straight back in and switched it back to movement
I am so scared if I switch it to sound something will happen
so how can I wean myself off it, I mean he sleeps on the lounge during day no monitor he sleeps on futon with me no monitor we co-sleeps on occasion no monitor but when I put him in cot I need it on :(
so how can I wean myself off it, or what age did you who use them stop using them:D

I have no advice - just big hugs - cos I know I'll be going through that same situation soon. We still use a monitor (although both pads) with DS, and when the new baby comes.. what are we going to do!?!?!?! I know my sister uses them until her kids are 2, but I think on the box the recommended age is 1? I'm not sure. I think we are just going to buy a new one for the new bub (isn't that awful!) So just wanted to let you know you are sooo not alone mate!!!

Well hello :)
WIth isaac I didn't take it away till he was in a bed and same went for Jacob. Simply take it away.. pack it up and don't use it..
I understand how you feel though but it takes a few days and you get used to not having it anymore

glad I am not the only one

wow...we have the same issue. DD is 10 months old today. She loves going up the other end of the cot and sleeping on her side and the thing goes off. When is the official age you can stop using it??? We went camping during xmas i didnt use it then and i dont use it when we are at ppls places...just here. I love it though, its given me so much piece of mind.
Cheers
Melissa

lol I had to laugh Rachel. I think it's quite normal for us to feel uncomfortable about changing something we've always done!! Oskar still sleeps in our room ... albeit in his cot but next to me all the same and I can't even bear the thought of having to move him out... don't know how I'll cope when we do!!... withdrawals!!! When you're ready and comfortable do it. Maybe turn it the movement off before you are going to bed so that you have like an hour or so while you're awake and if you want then turn it on before you go to bed, wean yourself that way??

thanks girls he is in there at the moment but I couldn't leave it on sound I had to put it on movement, maybe I should just get used to the sleepless nights with flase alarms

I still thnk just wait till he goes into a bed.. Or buy one with 2 pads :) or tie him to the one spot so he stops wiggling

maybe we should clarify things Nic is my sister so she is not suggesting anything bad
but good idea I was thinking of putting pad down one end of the cot but knowing my luck he will sleep at the other end
