i got told that having a nice warm bath when ur overdue can help bring on labour, if not i wouldnt mind having a bath anyway! but i've also heard that u shouldnt have a bath when ur dialated, cuz water can get in there or something? so now i have no idea!
is it safe to have a bath or what lol!
Baths id say is fine...think of all the mums who have water births...they are in baths!
I hope bub comes soon for you...being over sucks....DD2 was 5 days over..

yer i thought of that too... but i heard as well that it can spread infection as well... is there anything that i shouldnt put in the bath, like bubble and soap wise LOL

Not sure on infection bit....i just look at the side that mums give birth in water...water helps with contractions etc....
As for soap stuff....i have no idea....id say u could have something in the water, not sure what though...Sorry :(
As for dilation.....for most of my 2nd pg i was 1cm...but thats only cos its was my 2nd bub!!
My DD2 had no signs she was coming.. then outta the blue it was Hello Mummy!!
Maybe have a shower?? I couldnt see a bath hurting but I had showrs and let the hot water run on my lower back..helped heaps!!!
ETA: Maybe call the hospital?? Tell them you want to have a bath but not sure if you can due to been 1CM dilated. Also ask them about putting stuff in water.
yer i have been looking on other sites, and theres just waaay to much different stuff, so maybe i wont have a bath lol :p prob ok, but im over it now ;) hehe thanks!
baths are absolutely fine even if your not dilated just have water no bubbles or anything. and they say the water can stop your labor when i went into prem labor with my 3rd at 35 weeks midwife told me to have a warm bath and they stopped an i went to 39 weeks. think thats why i was 6 days over with my 1st i had 5 baths a day.

I thought the same as Snacks but I'd give your midwife/doctor a call to double check. You don't want to be in a nice warm bath meant to be relaxing and not be able to because you're worried about it.

I was told same as snacks only a no-no when your waters have broken- if your concerned give your GP or local hossy a quick call- cant hurt..... also i feel for you being overdue(post date)... but could be worse- with my first i went to 44 weeks as the hosital didnt believe my EDD (although we went by the last possible date given at US. If i had of gone my LMP or 2 of the other EDD i would have been 46-47 weeks..... i tryed everything from lots of sex (although uncomfortable- GP's recommend best way to start labor) walking, jumping, rashberry leaf tea, 4DW (we were advised to go on a bumpy drive), i cleaned like crazy for the whole 4 weeks and nothing.... hope you go soon its annoying being post date..... and makes you more anxious just wating to see your bubs...

Baths are definitely fine if your waters are still intact, no matter how dilated you are.
