BellyBelly has an article on why parents choose not to vaccinate. No right or wrong answer - it's a personal decision you need to make on your own research. People will have bad experienced no matter what you choose, so best to do your own research and decide - and be confident of that decision knowing you did what YOU thought was best for your child :)
After exhaustive research we decided to get the MMR for DD when she was 14 months old. She suffered a mild temperature and rubella-type rash 6 weeks after the vaccination but nothing more. There is some question as to whether it was the Rubella part of the vaccine or something else entirely. I kept her in for a few days so she wouldn't meet any PG women (though the doctor said she would not be a danger to anyone) but all else was fine. It was the right decision for us.

Both my girls were immunized with no problems. I dosed them with tylenol before the shot and regularly for the remainder of the first day (just in case) They were perfectly fine. no noticeable reactions.
Chelsea had it at 13 months. No real side effects. She was a bit grizzly, went off food. No rash or temperature though.
As much as i hate immunisations and think they are not needed (but do it cos DH wants them, and id feel guilty if anything did happen) it was probably the right thing to do.
She still has the lump on her leg though!!! 6 weeks on :(
