Still hanging around, killing time, still another week after my cancelled appointment - hey, I have all the time in the world doc, dont worry about MY clock or MY wishes.

My brother and SILs pregnancy is going well, looks like this one is gonna stick for them. I am happy for them, but shes not at all sympathetic to me and raves on and on about morning sickness and scans and so on... Here, let me slice my heart open so you can pour the salt directly on SIL shall i???!

Yes, I am a bitter old infertile now. It hurts too much these days. I am so ready to give up, but my stubborn streak says see the IUI's through, 3 more... It just took such a silly amount of time to get to this point (incompetent first dr) and im out of steam.

Long term AC'ers are my heros, and I mean that. Noone has spirit like long termers.

Thanks sue for your post on the adhesions.. I know i am a catastrophist, but i just feel like i have been through so much cr*p at the moment that i am just expecting the norm to happen again.... the worst!!!

I know what you mean about not getting attatched to the bubs, we used to call ours 'the boys'... i don't know why but we did... when i got my period I was finding it hard to cope looking at that blood knowing it was 'the boys'... oh our minds work in the most stupidest ways sometimes.

But in saying that SuziQ, don't worry honey, i have a good feeling for you and the kids.. You deserve this sweetheart after all you have been through..

Ooops sorry Kel, just read your post.. i know so much how you are feeling sweetie.. Not that my sister in law is preggas but a girl i work with is.. well it is her 3rd anyways.. and all she does is rave on about her pregnancy.. although i will give her credit where credit is due, she did tell me that if she was upsetting me with her discussions to tell her ... BUT i don't want to look like a stupid infertile moron!!! So i tough it out and pretend to be interested, but then cry on my way home from work wishing it was me....

I can't even watch some TV shows with pregnant people on them, ie that mini series Mary Bryant.. that rattled me.. and Ladder 49... stupid stupid stupid.. but i guess that is how we grieve .. and people should respect it..

The other night i was talking to our flower girls mum and she said..

'You know if you never have children you will always have DH" I actually snapped at her, and this is very unlike me. i told her "That doesn't make it any easier you know" (of course i know that i am lucky to have DH) but sometimes i think 'what the *%#@ are people thinking when they open their mouths, NOTHING obviously..

So my dear Kell, you cry and feel miserable as much as you want as you are entitled to it...

I am having a really sore and painful day today leading up to my OPU tomorrow. gonna fill my face before midnight so I am not starving tomorrow as my OPU is not till 11am so who knows when I get to eat.

My SIL ended up with 29 embryos to freeze. I am insanely jealous mind you............not to be going through all the OHSS stuff but I doubt they will be doing another stim cycle ever!!

My girlfriends husband was killed tragically last year in a farming accident and she has 3 boys ages 15,12,8 to bring up on her own. She was telling me, that some people say to her, "oh at least you have the boys".... DOH as if that is going to make it better!!!! These boys will never have a dad again, and she will never have her husband to cherish again!!!!

Sorry if you took offensive to my coment about your DD but what i meant was, even though you had the adhesions you still managed to have your daughter and the adhesions didn't stop you from having your bub!!! This gives me hope...

Hello everyone else,

Leis, I think it's easy to feel like the bitter infertile person when you don't want to hear about other people's pgs. My sister fell pg and found out via HPT 2 days before I was due to have my beta on my 3rd cycle. I was the first person she called and the first thing she said was "how could this be happening to me?"

My mother then went on to tell me that I could stop trying to have a child because she "had enough grandchildren now"

Then my sister's BF said that obviously he was so virile that he got my sister pg without trying, in front of my DH on my DH's birthday.

I then systematically got ostracised from my family coz I could not stand being there and being made to feel like a freak, just by virtue of their throwaway comments. If that made me a bitter infertile woman, than I am one proudly.

I could not watch commercials with pg women in then, I could not see a pg woman in the shops without wanting to run her over with my trolley, I could not tolerate insensitive comments by idiot people. I still can't. You don't complain to someone with breast cancer that your bbs are too big and you need a reduction, do you? You just be thankful for your own blessings and keep your mouth shut. So why should we be treated with any less sensitivity?

Take care of yourselves first, my sweets.

thanks sushee, you make me feel so much better.. even DH was thinking i was loosing the plot, but why can't i grieve, they were our bubs, no one elses...My girlfriend who is also a nurse said to me, "well you know I don't mean to sound cruel, but really they are only 8 cell, embryos" #@*$!!!! Yes this may be BUT they are the combination of DH's and my bodies.. they are US!!!

I know this sounds silly but one of my bridesmaids is getting married next April, and I am refusing to go to the wedding. We have booked our trip overseas to coincide with her wedding. (excuse) I just couldn't stand going back to the town I grew up in for the wedding and having all these people around me that I have known for years asking 'so when are you having children?" Sometimes when people ask this I feel like turning around and saying "Never, as i had a radical hysterectomy when I was 17 and unfortunatley we will never ever have children" Is this nasty or is this "I'm just so freakin' feed up I just want people to go away and keep their noses out of my business" gosh i am bitter....

Another girl at my work said, 'But what if you will never have children what will you do, as this is a possibility?" She is pregnant and i felt like turning around to her and saying "what if you find out at 6 months the child you are carrying is Down Syndrome, or has some major birth defect that will be detrimental to it for the rest of its life, as this is a possibility you know"

OK.... i am going over board here, time for me to go down to the shops and do some RT.. it is badly needed.. thank goodness my telstra shares payed dividends the other day... money... mmmm

Leis, don't worry about feeling bitter, I think all it takes is one of us to say/write something & you'll find that most of us will join in.

My DD is nearly 4 so I don't get so many '& when are you having more' but when she was closer to 2 I got it a lot. After I had my 2nd miscarriage I'd had enough & when someone asked I then said 'I have to get over the miscarriages first'. Wow, should've seen some of the looks I got. And mind you I think they've never asked again.
Now I am quite open about my IVF, talk of more children comes up a fair bit when I'm around other mums talking kid stuff. Just say I'm doing it, but don't go into more details.
Or else I just say 'it isn't that easy for us'.

Coming back to work today I was able to gloss over my hospital stay by saying it was 'girl stuff'. But it was nice to see that people do care.

I have a school reunion coming up next year & am hoping to be pg by then. Same as you wouldn't like to go back to the 'past' where I'm sure a question will come up & wouldn't like to tell anyone there about it.

Oh, and I was just also stating a point about having a DD, I don't get offended by anyone's viewpoint, every one of us have our own paths.
