First Ultasound
Hi girls, just wanted to let you all know that Im having my first ultrasound tomorrow. I am starting to feel a bit nervous about it all, its the downsyndrome scan and I guess Im worried. I think its pretty normal to be worried, especially for me - I used to work with people with disabilities for 10 years and have seen how hard it can be on families. My sickness feeling is easing off, and I am not as tired as I have been the past few weeks.

Good luck for tomorrow! Sending you *happy scan vibes*. I still have another couple of weeks until mine. Wish it was earlier!

Good luck, its normal to be a bit nervous before your scan, they will do a measurment of the liquid behind the babies neck and combine that with your blood test to get your chances ratio.
You may have to wait a day or so for the results(being a friday, not until monday or even tuesday), and if your dr is slack like the one i went to- you may even need to chase them up for your reassurance, i had my scan last monday and didnt hear anything for a week, so i figired no news was good news, which was right, when i called for the 3rd time and picked up my films and read the report, my chances ratio was fantastic 1:3342, the lady who did the measurment was pretty confident that the measurment was good so i wasnt too worried, but if you dont want to sit around waiting once its done, tell your dr that you WANT a phone call regardless of the results, as the policy some drs have is "i will call if something is wrong" and that can leave you wondering for days!!!
Good luck!!

Got my scan done this morning. It all went well and I got my results pretty much 1 hour later. 1:8000 chance and the ladia was very happy with that and said that bubba is looking really good, she could see the tummy, arms, legs - its all there. My due date is correct and I am almost 12 weeks now, so all and all it was fantastic!!! We started to cry when we saw bubba and I just couldnt believe that he/she is in my tummy AMAZING!! Even though this is our second baby, it still felt exciting and new. Thanks for your support and replies.
