Sounds silly to me too. maybe theres a chance of you getting a rash or something. Although, TAKE WARNING!!. Never get a bikini wax and then a spray tan straight after. I did and the next day my bikini line was pure white where the wax residue had stayed. Not a good look.
haven't heard that one before ...
I haven't heard of that before either. My waxing lady hasn't ever told me that and she knows that I'm a swimming teacher.
I would love to know the reasons why :)
Hmm, haven't heard that before either but I'm thinking that it might go along with the "no sun exposure after waxing" rule, assuming that you would be swimming outdoors.
The other possibility is that freshly waxed skin and chlorine might not be a happy combination??!!
I've jumped in my pool straight after a wax heaps of times. Never even thought of asking the question if I should or not.
Im a beauty therapist and the no swimming rule is more of a precaution. People with highly sensitive skin can react to chlorine etc after just being waxed as the hair follicles are still open. I'd wait a couple of hours to be on the safe side. Otherwise, happy swimming!!:)
Thanks guys!
