playgroup for babies?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where to put it.
So I found a playgroup in my area that's in walking distance (which is important because I can't take my pram on the bus as the buses all have stairs and the bus drivers won't help me with it, and I don't have a license), it's probably the only thing I can do with Aurelia so i'd really like to go. Thing is, she's only 6 months old. Are playgroups usually for older kids or do people take their babies there too?
TIA

Hi,
The truth is - playgroups are as much for mums as babies - so go along and try it out. It's a great place where you can share a cuppa and a chat, see that everyone else is pretty much going through the same thing, and have some relaxed and stress free time with your baby.
One of the best forms of "playgroup" for mothers and small babies is the Australian Breastfeeding Association. Their meetings are friendly and informal. They are in most areas.
Warm Regards

PLaygroups can definately be for babies because in no time they will be crawling, then waling and then playing independdently and you will appreciate the space, the toys and the other kids and mums/dads. Our mothers group who's babies are 5-7 months are starting playgroup tomorrow and even though it's more of a chance for us to catch up, I know they will love the centre when they're older! Have fun!

hey ive just started at play group and the ages range from around 6 months up to about 4 years old.... its great, the kids run riot and nobody cares...
i would highly recommend it i much prefer it to mothers group as 7 mums and 7 very mobile babies in a little loungeroom completely stresses me out!!
