10 DPO (I think) and temp this morning was 37, is that normal?

I really don't believe I am pregnant. I can feel AF is on her way. Although I haven't been temping. Just using MB, I was curious and checked my temp first thing this morning. It was 37. I went back to bed and then about an hour later I checked it again and it was 36.4. Then just before I left for work I checked it again and it was 36.8. What the heck does all that mean.
I have decided next month to temp as well. But I really don't understand the significance of the temps, when to temp, when not to temp etc.
I registered for the FF charting course, thought that might teach me a bit about the charts etc.
But if anyone can explain the significance of it in simple terms I would appreciate it.

P.S. I am not sick, my nose is a bit stuffy at the moment, but I am certain that is because of this stupid cold/hot weather we keep having, and we sleep with the window open at night.

when taking your bbt for fertility you take it once and then put the thermometer away and record your temp and time it was taken...thats it...uncomplicated.

there is no sense in taking temps all morning, it doesn't increase effectiveness it will just do you head in :doh::wall:

threemoreplz is right. In BBT charting, the only temperature that counts is the one taken immediately after three hours of uninterrupted sleep. At any other time your temperature is under the influence of what you have been doing.

The other thing with temperature charting - it's about looking for patterns and trends and changes in that overall pattern. One temperature in isolation means nothing. The fact that at a certain point after ovulation I'm likely to have a temperature of 36.8 and another woman at the same point in her cycle may have a temperature of 37.1 means nothing. You need to look at how YOUR temperature changes over time and comparing it to somebody else won't give you any clues.

Good luck with everything, and the FF charting course is really good and it will teach you a lot - and make this mysterious BBT thing much, much clearer to you.
