when did u lower ur cot?

asha is 5mths old and pretty close to crawling.. should i be lowering the cot now to the bottom level or is it ok like it is until she is pulling herself up on things?

We lowered ours at about 7-8 months..when our DD was beginning to look like she might pull herself up on things, which was not long after she could get herself up from a lying position to a sitting posi.

It's a scarey thought isn't it thinking they might fall out!!

We lowered ours when she started to sit up on her own. She started pulling herself up a week later so we're glad we changed it when we did! She was about 7 months.

We lowered Oscar's cot at 5 months just to be safe.

We did ours a bit later than we should have but really once they can sit up they could pull themselves up so better safe than sorry. OT but I was in the worst habit from when she was little of leaving the side down - when she couldn't sit up it didn't matter but then she started sitting and a few times I went in after a ap and nearly had a heart attack seeing her sitting there and the side down.:rolleyes:
Needless to say now that she is standing I've never once forgotten!

Yep same here, once he started pulling himself up on things.

We did ours as soon as he crawled as I wanted it lower BEFORE he started pulling himself up, just in case that was the first place he decided to try and do it... He would have been just under 6 months.

thanks heaps for ur replies might get dp to do it this weekend as she can stand holding something if i put her there wouldnt want it to suddenly click hmmm if i pull on that etc lol shes not sitting by herself yet but lots of rolling and pushing herself up n inching along lol even in the cot!! once again thanks heaps

Lowered DD's cot just last night :p as DH went in a couple of times during her naps yesterday to find her giggling her head off sitting up!!:rolleyes: She will be 9 months tomorrow
