Weaning with full bbs?
I have been weaning my DS for about the last 6 weeks and now havent bf for 2 weeks. The weaning happened quite quickly for the last part (I was feeding about twice a day by then) as I had to go away for two days for work and although I was really full when I got home, I didnt really have much after that. DS was pretty frustrated and as I was planning to wean anyway I didnt do anything to boost my supply and so now DS is totally bottle fed. Yesterday I realised my bbs were full of milk (they had felt heavier the day before but not really full) and last night they started leaking. I am now wearing breastpads although I didnt need to wear them once during the whole time I bf. I would have thought my body would have turned of the signals already? and I haven't taken any meds that might boost my supply. Does it just take longer than I thought? And what should I do now? I dont want mastitis but dont want to keep making more milk.
Help please :)

Krysalyss, some women find they leak milk occassionally years after they stop bfing. It will probably take weeks or months for you to produce no milk. If you are not really full - ie not uncomfortable or lumpy, you are probably ok not to express. But if you start feeling that way (or if you get mastits symptoms), I would express off just enough to be comfortable. It will stop being noticeable very soon, even if there is still some there, you probably won't know about it.
