Footwear for 7-month-old
My seven-month-old DD doesn't "need" footwear as such but it's getting cold in Melbourne and we're off to Tassie in a fortnight where it will be even colder. She ALWAYS manages to get her socks off so I think I need to get her some shoes or preferably some little ugg boots to keep her feet warm.
Do ugg boots come in teeny-tiny sizes - if so, where's a good place to look? And if I have a look on eBay (weather's a bit yeuky to go out today cos I don't drive) what size would I be looking for?

Hey Fiona,
I got given a pair of ugg boots from a friend for DS's birthday - I will ask her where she got them from and get back to you. :D

we got given some and i think they were from kmart.... also, you can get slipper socks, warm socks with a sort of sole on them.... kmart stock the fisher price range of shoes and you just look at the packets to work out the sizing... my dd is 12 months and in size 4... 7 months at a guess would be size 3, but the packets tell you.

Fiona - I checked with my friend and she got them from the Bright Bots factory outlet in Brisbane. I'm not sure if there is an outlet near you or not? My friend has offered to get you some and send them down to you if need be. Her son is 6 months old, so probably has similar sized feet.
Hope this helps!!!

Hi!
I got Emy some really cute little slippers last year from Best & Less - they just slip on to the foot very easily with elastic in the top to keep it on - Emy never managed to get one off, and it was sooooo easy to put on! They were blue fluffy things on the outside, and then cloth on the inside, with a cat face on them, and little ears. SOOOOOO cute! They didn't have any girl ones when I went shopping, but I thought the blue ones were good anyway!
They are super cute, and kept her feet warm. In the middle of winter when it was colder, I just put some socks on underneath (bonds are the best ones - with the elasticated top, anklet style - NEVER fall off!) and her feet were always toasty!
I had them on her feet all the time too - not just at home. We'd got out with her in really cute pink clothes and jeans and stuff, and on her feet were these fluffy blue slippers! She was them so much that the elastic snapped in one of them, but it was an easy fix - you have access to the elastic where it goes over the top of the foot (the bit around the back of the foot is covered by the cloth inner, and I just retied a little knot in it - EASY!!
I have bought her the same type this year, but they have changed the decorative bits, and no longer sell blue. Instead they have pink with a pink bear face, or white with a blue bear face. But still fluffy on the outside, and cloth inside, and so easy to put on, and Emy still hasn't managed to get one off on her own!
I reckon that, if I knew how to sew, making some others of this style would be fairly easy too - looks like it might be an easy pattern - hmmm....might have to track down someone who can sew, and see if they could make a few bigger pairs for her?

I got DS some at Cotton on kids which were really warm and comfy.
