Quicksmart Easy Fold Stroller

I am looking for a small stroller to keep in the car and use just in those times when DS is being a pain and doesn't want to walk short distances. He insists on being and carried - a bit of a problem and getting increasingly so!!!

Has anyone got or used the Quicksmart stroller?

They look really handy but a bit on the pricey side. Are they worth it?

Are they easy to push with a heavier toddler? I note that the weight limit is 15 kg and DS is well under this and probably won't reach the weight limit for another year! So do you think it is still worth it?

I am hoping that DS will eventually want to walk sensibly and then we can use the stroller for Tickle Toes, especially as we want to do some travelling soonish and they look really handy for the airport.

I read a few reviews of the quicksmart just before going overseas and the geneeral impression I got was that most people found them unsatisfactory - hard to fold, hard to steer, uncomfortable to push for taller people and don't cope well with bumps.
I just got a cheapy umbrela stroller instead - it was only 3 kilo heavier and about 100 dollars cheaper and has a slightly higher weight limit. It's not ideal for rough surfaces but for those moments when lmy boys are sick of walking it's perfect.
If you want to get a quicksmart they are often on ebay almost new.

I've got a quicksmart and to be honest I don't really like it. I am just glad I didn't pay for it - my mum bought it for me. For a start, they are not easy to fold at all. It took me several goes to figure out how to fold it, and even now I am pretty good at it but still sometimes have trouble. At first it was pretty easy to manouver, but now that Matilda is bigger and heavier it is not so easy. She is nowhere near being 15 kg yet but I still find it difficult to turn and push at times. Also some of the foam is peeling off the handle bar and the other day one of the little hub caps on one of the wheels fell off. As I said, I am glad I didn't pay for it. Get an umbrella stroller - much cheaper and to my mind better value than the quicksmart - which to me does not justify its high price at all.

Thanks for your comments ladies. I was concerned that the high price tag wasn't justified.

We have a Quicksmart and bought it second hand from eBay so didn't pay full price. We purchased it for the purpose of plane travel. It folds into a backpack so you can take it on as carryon luggage. This has proved to be invaluable as you can keep a toddler strapped in after checking in luggage :D

We also keep it in the footwell behind the seat and it fits perfectly but I probably only use it once a week or less. If it's just for the car I would probably get a cheaper, easier one but if you intend to travel esp overseas I highly recommend it.

We just use a little umbrella stroller as a carry on pram when we fly. We hand it over as we board and get it back when we get off the plane.

Yeap I have one and LOVE IT. Got itabout 2 years ago when I was flying and heavily pg with Ned and Lucie was about 6 months old. Re folding it - you practise a few times and now I reckon I can do it in about 20 secs. Not that hard after a few rehearsals. Didn't know about theweight restriction but I recently used it with Lucie and she is nearly 14 kg and it was fine. Both kids love going in it 'cos there isn't much stroller around them IYKWIM - they don't feel enclosed. It isn't overly high though and I'm fairly tall, that's the only downside I can see. I don't use it all the time but every time I fly with the kids it's the dirst thing that gets packed. Love it love it love it. Everyone's different though! Mine was on sale at target I think for about $89
