i've noticed that on some people's chart they have put in "C" or "S" for their CM after ovulation, and their coverline is staying as a solid red line, when I try to do this, it makes my coverline go dotted - can you override this????

Really? It only changes my chart if I put a W or E after O day.
Not sure why it would give you dotted lines becayse that isn't fertile type CM. You didn't change anything else as well?

Some people find that they get Creamy or Sticky CM after Oing. you can overide this or change it from research or advanced or vice versa.
