Swollen right ear
This morning, DH put Jensen down on the lounge room floor to play so he could go to the loo, and he came back out and Jensen's right ear had swollen. Now, it looks terrible, but doesn't seem to be giving him any grief. There looks to be a puncture mark, but we took him to the chemist and she said to use some antihistamine (polaramine?) to help with the swelling and redness. It's every 6-8 and he's just had his 2nd dose. It doesn't look any different. I'm worried that a small spider could have bit him. Should I wait til monday to see someone or see if I can find a dr open sundays?
Anyone had something like this happen to their baby?

Hmmm. Its a pretty quick swelling reaction but I would imagine that it would have gone down a little with the anti-histamines. I would get it seen or call a health line (we have a government run one in QLD) which is either 13 health or 1300 health (the other is a private dr line but isn't free). The line has a registered nurse who can advise you on how soon it should be seen.

My DS recently got bitten by something on his ear. I got a little worried because it also got very swollen. I think it must be a sensitive spot. I put stingoes on it. It took just over 24 hrs for the swelling to reduce. Hope this helps.
