Teething Already??!!!
Alex is only 10 weeks old, is it possible for him to be teething already??
I know it doesn't necessarily mean he will cut any any time soon, but it just seems so young i guess.
I'm going crazy because i have no idea what's wrong with him and this is the last thing i could thing of.
Recently (the last few days) he has started drooling heaps - like masses of slobber everywhere. He won't keep his hands out of his mouth, and he doesn't seem content at all unless he is sucking on something - he rarely ever made use of the dummy before now he wants it even when he's 'happy'. He'd never been interested in his thumb before either and now he shoves it in whenever possible.
He is constantly wanting to be cuddled, his sleep has been really interrupted and he often has very red cheeks. I don't know about temp as i actually haven't checked it ( can't find our thermometer) but from touch i would say at time he is a little warm.
You can see the top and bottom two teeth in his gums, the bottom two seem very high, and they have become more visible lately.
I've just given him panadol and about ten minutes after he was splitting with smiles and now he's gone back to sleep no troubles.
Is it likely to be him teething? Or is he just being a grumpy bum?

It is quite possible he is teething. Babies do everything at a different rate to others.
Cooper was miserable for weeks when he was about 4 months old and I couldn't figure it out. Finally the doctor told me that he might have teeth coming down. They weren't ready to erupt yet but they were moving which was really painful.
Good luck!

Zavier teethed really early too....
But 10-12 weeks is a developmental step too hon... also the salvia glands only kick in about now as well...so poor little mite could have a combination of things...Just do what you are doing babe...He just wants his mummy!!!;)

It was around then that DS started drooling heaps too. It's also when he became more interested in shoving everything into his mouth. Teeth have only just come through this week (at 4.5 months).
Clinic nurse said to me that they can have teething 'symptoms' months before the teeth actually come through, as they move around in the gums.

Thanks Court, Jodie and Rach.
I had heard that they can teethe for ages before they actually come through but i was hoping otherwise.
He is the grizzliest little bub out at the moment.
Thank goodness for slings!

Ash DD got her 1st 2 teeth 4.5 months..but you could see the 2 white spots just under the gum for about 8ish weeks before hand and she was a grumpy bum :(

The other thing that might be irritating him are his ears... Just a thought. Hope he's feeling better soon.

It sounds like teething Ash BUT Oscar started doing the same thing at the same age and he only got his first tooth around 1 month ago!
Maybe ask your MCHN at your next appt if it's soon.

Alex is 10 weeks ALREADY????
yeah, it could be teething. My lot start showing symptoms at about 12 weeks, but the teeth wouldn't show until about 5 months old.

My Harrison is the same age as Alex and he is teething. So I would say yes possible for him to be teething already. They can't have teething gel until they are 4 months, which is a pain.
