Teething Already??
Hi Guys
Well I know there's heaps of threads out there regarding the same subject but I'm going crazy at the moment and any help would be appriciated :)
So,my DD is almost 15wks old and her sleeping habits have drasticley changed in the last few weeks. She use to sleep about an hour and a half (co-sleeping) with me after her 7am feed, then about 30-60mins after mid-morning feed and about an hour in the afternoon. She always goes to bed at 7pm and then I wouldnt hear a peep from her till around 10.30/11pm (next feed).Well over the last few weeks she's been getting more and more unsettled at night, goes to sleep fine but then wakes within the hour extremley upset.I give her the dummy but it only works a few times till I have to end up picking her up and rocking her back to sleep(then she wakes within the hour again). Her daytime sleeps are only lasting 15mins (!) to 30mins now too,the only one thats the same is the morning one where we co-sleep.(we also co-sleep during the night too, once I've gone to bed)
The only other symptoms is alot of drool, red cheeks, rubbing her face, hands constantly in her mouth and bit of a red bum,but only after a poo,not really a rash.Im wondering if its her teeth moving thats causing her to wake up as she use to settle herself well and now when she wakes up its a painful/frustrated cry :( I cant see or feel any teeth though.
Please help,I feel like I just want my little girl back! I might be in the wrong section though cos Im wondering if its more of a sleep issue? She isnt grizzly or clingy during the day and today was the first time I noticed her cry out of the blue with no reason.I should also mention that when I do pick her up she stops crying straight away and then goes crazy when I go to put her down again (during her sleep times).

Can you take her temperature and see if she has a mild fever?
She might have a bit of a cold which can cause unsettledness.
if she's rubbing her ears might be ear infection
it could be teething though. when DS was teething he was better during the day - more distractions ? - but very bad at night. Crying, hard to resettle after a feed, very frequent wakings. This was in combination with a cold though! not fun.
i did find that DS's sleep habits chnaged at around the 4 month mark. it might be a development thing.

I am experiencing the same with DDs sleep but she is a bit older than yours. Teething can start from 3 months. My DD has had a week of crying, restless sleep, waking an hour into night time sleep and all sorts of unusual habits. I am putting it down to teething as she is not ill but is not always settled even when picked up (ie screaming continues). As suggested take her temp to double check. I understand that fully breastfed babies don't get ear infections. My DD is also worse at night and when lying down.
Yours does sound like it, but could be wrong. With teething she may have symptoms now but you may not see a tooth for weeks. Check everything else (hunger, wind, nappies, tummy pain etc), if worried see a GP (they never mind checking babies) and if no answer, then perhaps it is teeth.

Hi Ness,
 to you. It is so frustrating when they start grizzling, crying and you can't find a reason. My DD cut the bottom 2 teeth when she was 4 months, and I think we are getting some more through.
We put a small amount of bonjela on a dummy and she puts it straight to where it is sore (this isn't the reccomended way to use bonjela, but it helps us find where the pain is), and then know where to aim when she is allowed more.
my DD gets very clingly while teething and hates to be put down, even if she can see me.
But if you still feel worried, as Deidre suggested, take her to GP to rule out other things..
