Sharp pains?
Hi all,
I've found plenty of references to people having period type pains while they're pregnant, but I was just wondering whether anyone has experience sharpish pains? I've been getting them on and off all day today (I think I'm 6 weeks today). Thought it might have had something to do with my bowels (I hadn't gone for a few days), but it doesn't seem to have eased up since 'going'.
I'm trying not to stress as I haven't had any bleeding. Will see how I go tomorrow I guess.

I had really sharp pains in my first pregnancy because of the vitamins I was on - it was SHOCKING pain. Gave me really bad wind too
Are you on any vitamins? you may need to switch, it could be that. or could be growing pains... a lot of funny things are happening down there!

I'd say it's growing pains - i had shocking sharp pains for the first few months of my pregnancy, ranging from period achy pain to sharp stabbing pain. I know it's scary - it doesn't make sense that it's stretching pains when your bub is soooo small, but your body is just getting ready.
Just try to relax (not easy I know in the first few months!), I was told not to worry unless the pain was accompanied by bleeding.
Good luck with the rest of your pg :)

Thanks girls. Like I said, I'd read so much about 'period type' pains, that I wasn't quite sure about these ones. You've made me feel much better about it. I didn't want to bother my ob again after rushing in there for a tiny tiny bit of spotting last week, and I've got a follow up appointment on Monday anyway, so I'll mention it again then.
