Fungus..whats it called??

Heya
Well i went for my and DD's 6w after birth check up today, and before the doc felt my tummy he said i had something or another (i really dont remember what its called) and i asked him what that was..and he said it was a slow growing fungus!!
Anyway, he tried getting more info for me about it all, but his internet wasnt working, so he said he would get it for me at my next appt...
But now i wanna know more :cry:
So im hoping SOMEONE can help me find the name of this fungus..
Okay..so it is commonly found on the tummy and the back..its a slow growing fungus..and it is like a whitey colour and can sometimes look scaley..and thats all i know..Oh i got it while i was pregnant while my immune system was 'down'...
Any help would be greatful :)

Could it be ringworm? It's not a worm infection like it sounds, it's caused by a fungus similar to that which causes tinea and thrush.

umm nah i dont think so..think he would have said so..hmmm...

eta..i just looked up ringworm, its def not it..

Did he tell you to put an anitfungal cream on it?
When is your next app? If you are worried about it and want to know before the next app i'd make an earlier app.

When i lived on a boat and was always in the sun, i got a fungus on my L arm and back, it looked like the pigment was going on my skin, but it was just the fungus. I put a cream on it and it dissapeared relly quickly. Dr told me it was a fungus, but i don't know what sort......

I'm a bit prone to fungal skin (I believe it's from living in the tropics for half my life - its' worn me down) but fungal creams like canesten are usually enough to get rid of them. Did the Dr tell you what to use on it?

Thanks every one, i found out it was Tinea Versicolor. The doc didnt tell me to put anything on it, he said we will talk about it at my next appt, which is on Thursday morning (not this one coming but the one after) he did say id use a shampoo of some sort to get rid of it..im not too wprried about it just wanted to know more info coz i wasnt given much info about it coz his internet wasnt working so he couldnt get me a pamphlet.

i remember when i had the fungal thing Dr also recommended i uses SelsunBlue i think!
