Gender determination...

Is it poossible to only carry one gender?

By that i have had alot of comments like 'maybe you only will have girls', or 'maybe your body cant carry boys for a certain reason'.

But i have a friend who reckons theirs a link in my family (as well as his own) that our families have the link (in his) is boy boy girl and mine seems to be girl girl boy.

DH family are a bit all over the place. Ive also been told the mothers genes in the generations are most likely to determine the babies genders.

Thoughts??

I really am hoping this bub is a boy, but not getting my hopes up just because of the girl girl boy theme.

I've not heard of that. The man decides the sex anyway depending on whether the male or female sperm get there so I don't see how you can carry only one certain gender. Just luck of the draw I guess!

There is a rare condition that lets you only carry one gender and you'll miscarry one gender and only have successful with the other.

I hope it's a boy for you though!

Kim this theory is an interesting one and one that we have discussed at length.

DH's father was one of 3 boys then a girl, DH was one of 3 boys then a girl, and now DH has fathered 3 boys and (praying the u/s dude got it right!) now a girl! Quite freaky if you ask me...

(DH's oldest brother doesn't have any kids. His other brother has a boy then a girl and his younger sister is PG with her second girl so it's just us that has followed this pattern)

Whilst it is the male that determines the sex, i truly believe the 'environment' of the female plays a factor too - alkaline or acidic - something like that.

I have 3 little girls, and only this week my DH has said how much he would love a boy. I know if we go for #4 we will end up with another girl...i just know. Im one of 4 girls myself, i fall pregnant very easy - just like my mum, just like my nan, just like her mum.........

i looooove having 3 little girls. Its not that bad......i say your in for a win either way;)

I will definately come out a winner mbear regardless of the gender...im the same as you....DH looks at me and i get preg!! :D

We have a friend who is one of 4 boys. He has 3 sons and his brother has 2 sons. No girls in his family for miles back. Really strange!! People just accept that they can't have girls.
I am hoping for girl number 3, but I have a feeling this one could be a boy!! xo
