Babies and Salmon?
Hello
We are having salmon rissoles for dinner tonight and was just wondering if my 6 month old baby can have some salmon in some mashed potato for dinner?
I know that his potato will need to be prepared differently to ours (no butter or milk) but I'm just not too sure about the salmon. At what age can they start eating fish?
Thanks!

We had a dietician come to mothers group, she gave us a handout that recommends introducing salmon and tuna at 9 months.
Having said that, i gave my DD tuna when she was 6 and a half months and Salmon when she was 7 months. I'm not very good at following the rules!

yeah most of the info i have said recommends salmon and tuna a bit older... i first tried tuna with DS at about 8.5 months and it went down ok, though i notice he LOVES it now...
i wuold prob skip it for now unless he has had lots of diff things and not had digestion probs (ie lots of protein??) i noticed the main issue when introducing things earlier would be he would have probs digesting it - waking up atr 4am upset witha tummy ache...you know what he has had before so do what you think is best....

Thank you very much girls! That is pretty much what I thought. He has been on solids for 3 months already but I might hold off for another month or so ....
I'm a dietician myself but this nutrition in babies is something very different to what I'm used to!
Thanks!
