28 weeks and bub is transverse... anyone else been there done that????

We had our Dr check up today and found out bub is comfortably transverse - head on my right. :rolleyes: The Dr wasn't too fussed and said we have quite a few weeks fo rhim to move to a better position, but FAR OUT... As if I'm not stressed enough with VBAC stuff etc...!

I am doing OP stuff to avoid another posterior labour, but am wondering if there is anything else I can do? I sleep on my right hand side all night even night- could this be why he has taken up residence on this side??

Love to hear some reassuring stories of people who had a cheeky bub who moved head down later in pregnancy please!!

I was transverse at 28 weeks, well Alexander was - and he'd turned by 32.
Remember - second baby like to be stubborn and take their time.
You'll be fine babe.
You're going to get that VBAC and we're right behind you!

Hahaha! Thanks ladies!!!! I know Im stressing about nothing but it just feels like one more thing to add to the pile of cr@p that I carry around in this over analytical brain of mine!! :)

Tan, I wouldn't worry just yet. My bub was breech at about 28 wks and I think posterior too, but about a week or two later he turned. I was really worried I'd end up with a c/s too. I did some of the OP exercises and lots of walking and crawling around with DD and I think that helped. I make sure that I still do it to keep him there too!
I have made an effort to sleep on my left side, I normally sleep on my back or right side. I usually wake on my back but I turn over to the left and try to stay that way. But you can't help what you do when you're asleep.
And besides you still have 12 weeks for him to turn!! That's heaps of time :) everything will be fine.

It's ok, this is really common after you've already had one baby. Your uterus has much more "give" so the baby can move around alot longer ;)

My first baby was head down from very early on, around 20 weeks I think. My second one didn't get his act together until 33 weeks - he was breech or transverse at every appointment until then. One night at 33 weeks I walked down the stairs and felt him practically bursting out my sides. For an hour I wanted to hurl I was so uncomfortable. Then I felt him kick me in the ribs...had an appointment the next day and he was head down. And that's where he stayed :)

DS was traverse for ages and then one night at 34 weeks i felt the weirdest feeling it was like i was bursting - and you could see all the limbs poking out (i remember sayng to dh it was like he was giving me a caeser from inside and wanted out) - weirdest feeling.. anyway he was shifting to head down.. and he stayed that way...

My little girl was head down bum up from abour 26 weeks, when I went into labour (@ 33weeks) she was transverse, I laboured on my knees, and she moved, then i had to spin around and she came out Sunnyside down, perfect :) No need to stress hun, it is never to late to spin!! :hug:

i just posted about that too in a new thread - oops. i just found out that my baby is posterior transverse but i'm 34 weeks. i was so excited that it was in the right position at 32 weeks and then the cheeky thing had to move didn't it!! i hope your bubby moves for you into the right position :hug:

My midwife stressed me out at about 28 weeks by saying something about breech and posterior and c/s... I started doing some OP stuff, mainly crawling and sitting backwards on a beanbag when I watched tv (which is actually sooooooooooooo comfy! Just make sure you have the beanbag near something you can use to help yourself up... I learnt the hard way!!!!!! hahahaha!). Anyway, she kept spinning and turning and doing some fantastic (NOT!) sumersaults right through until about 33 weeks. She'd moved head down by 34 weeks, and already engaged/engaging at 36. And my other midwife said the only time she starts stressing about a bubs position is after 37 weeks. So you've got HEAPS of time to turn her!

My baby was tranverse until about 34 weeks then he moved down into the right position. I stressed a bit about it. I went on all fours with my head down for about 10 mins a day - that was my midwife's advice.

Im nearlly 35 weeks (next tues) and bubz still hasnt turned..... i think shes laying sideways and nearlly making my sides split... it hurts at times...
Im hoping all will go well when the time comes.... I'm sure evenrything will be fine..
