Entry to Bachelor of Midwifery - help please
Hi Everyone,
I want to study BoM next year and I am wondering from those of you that are in the course, completed the course or applied for the course and not been excepted.......
1. Were you a mature aged student?
2. Did you do a uni prep course or have any other qualifications? Any other schooling? I asked the course convener, and she said my academic history was fine
3. What was the selection criteria? Eg - interview, essay, short answer questions, academic history, work/life experience etc
4. How does UAC work????? It looks big and scary......
5. Did you have references? If so, what sort?
I REALLY want to do it.......
This is me......
I am an enrolled nurse - currently working in a busy hospital
Worked in age care for about 10 years
Left school in Yr 11 because I wanted to socialise more than study  DUMB!!!!
I have studied since then....
Completed Cert 4 in Aged Care
Completed Cert 4 in Health (Nursing) - I did get top marks in the graded subjects
Lot's of in services and self directed learning as part of my job and registration as a nurse
Currently back at CIT (Tafe) completing a six month Drug administration for EN's which has graded subjects, finish this term
I have two children and am 31.
So, last question.... I promise.....
Is there anything else I can do to try and gain entry into the BoM? Anything you did that you think helped you gain entry? Are there any organisations you would recommend to join?
I am feeling sick with dread and excitement, applications open soon.....
ONE more question......
If you apply straight away, when do you find out if you get in???????????
Thanks so much for your help, I am driving myself spare!!!!!!!!!
