Just wondered whats considered a fever in a 4 month old. He feels hot to me & is 37.1. He's normally down in the 36's, but I've only taken his tem like twice 2 months ago.

i think its 38. hope your little one feels better soon.
Yeah. I know it's 38 in older bub's. He was just really grizzly & his head felt real hot. He's sleeping now so I think I'm just paranoid.
Took DS to the GPs yesterday with temps and she said panadol after 38.5.
When I rang Nurse on Call - they advised that the Royal Childrens Hosptial don't consider "high" until 40.5 - even then, they hesitate to give panadol as fever is the natural way of the body to fight infection.... As MrsMac mentioned I tend to give panadol if it gets close to or over 38.5 though.
 Good luck.
Really? I usually start to worry when it goes over 38. Depending on what else is going on. I thought over 39 was see the doc & over 40 go to emergency. Only if you can't bring it down.
So are we supposed to try to bring it down by tepid sponging? Or any other way before panadol? Or are we supposed to leave it??
He's 37.6 now. At least I know he's not cold!
