Can anyone recommend a good book on settling techniques/comforted sleeping/no cry solutions?
i think pinky mcKay as one, check the BB online store!
will do, just wondering if anyone can recommend an excellent one that worked for them
elizabeth pantley has the NO CRY sleep solution. there is one for babies and one for toddlers and pre schoolers
i'm in the process of reading the elizabeth pantley one at the moment.
Am waiting until ds is over his current cold and has seen a physio before i start any of the strategies, but i can say it is definitely the most gentle one i've read so far. Many other books only really give you one option (cc), whereas this book has a few suggestions that have worked for other people and you can try a few things and see what works for you and your bubs.
"Helping your baby to sleep" is another great read! I love it!
I second the pinky one and no cry sleep solution!
Good luck! xx
I have the No Cry Sleep Solution book and have really liked it so far. I'm only about half way through - I put it down when DD's sleeping improved. I really liked that it gave me 'suggestions' to try, not told me what to do. It gives you a whole variety of things and you choose which ones you feel most comfortable with or agree with.
Hi Belinda,
I am by no means an expert, as my Baby hasn't even arrived yet! But I have just finished reading
Baby Sleep Book. By Dr William Sears & Martha Sears. I found it very enjoyable to read, and you don't have to read cover to cover. You basically start at Chapter 3 and work your way 'around' the other chapters as you come across something that interests you.
It is a very positive book and it is because of this book that I have made the decision to co-sleep with my Baby.
There are no 'you must do this or you must do that' statements. Its full of practical ideas for both breast feed and bottle fed babies, sleeping with your child, without your child, back to work, etc etc. You go with what works for you.
My friend lent me this book and she has a 9month old, and she practices the comforted sleep/no cry method and she loves this book also.
Hope this has helped.
Sleeping like a baby by Pinky Mackay - best book I ever bought for my first child and using it again now!
